Some key things to note

Setting up a savings account

When you sign up to Stream it will create a savings account for you.

IMPORTANT: The default setting when this is created is to transfer £20 from your bank account into the savings account. However, this is optional and you can amend the amount to be £0 initially and then transfer money at a later date. You can amend this amount during the set-up process.

If you've set up a savings contribution but would like to amend it or pause it at a later date, it's easy to do in the Stream app.

Just open the app and go to Save on the Hub.

The click 'Settings' to review and change your 'Savings rules'.

You can keep your Savings account open while your contributions are paused.

If you'd also like to close your Savings account, you can do that on the same 'Settings' page and your money will be sent back to you.

Creating a new bank account

By enrolling in the Stream app, a new account with separate banking details is created for you as part of the standard enrolment process.

This is so Stream can send transfers and salary payments to your personal banking account, including through the Build feature (if applicable).

You may see these details changing within our HR Cascade system during the enrolment process. The banking sort code you will see will be either 04-00-72 or 04-34-78. This may show as a Modulr account, which is normal.

This does not change the personal banking details you have on file with payroll, and it will not change where you receive your salary on payday or who pays your salary.

Please do not change these details, or it will cause your account to be disabled.

Once your bank details have been finalised, Stream will send you an email letting you know that your enrolment is complete.

Does this replace CFED?

No, we're continuing to work with CFED.

CFED offer all colleagues free access to up-to-date financial information that is relevant to you.

Just some of the areas they can support include:

  • Mortgages
  • Wills
  • Pensions
  • Retirement planning
  • Savings and investments.

We’ve worked with the Centre for Financial Education for several years and have received consistently positive feedback from colleagues who have used their services.

The service is entirely confidential and free to use.

The impartial information provided does not replace financial advice but should give you the tools and knowledge you need to make informed decisions or ask the right questions.

To contact the Open Access Service, simply send the following information to amplius@cfed.co.uk

  • Your name
  • Contact email and number
  • Details of your enquiry.

The Open Access Service will then do the research and get back to you with the information or agree a time to speak.
